    Requirements
    Silver Gold
    1. You can choose a competency track based on your organization’s business focus: Services, Independent Software Vendor, or Independent Hardware Vendor.

      Your organization can attain multiple competencies. If your employees or contractors pass the eligible competency exams for multiple silver competencies, you can count those exams toward attaining multiple silver competencies.

      1. Pass technical assessments, exams,  and certifications
      • Two individuals each must pass one of the following Services track options:

        Option 1:
        • Exam 70-336: Core Solutions of Microsoft Lync Server 2013
        • Exam 70-337: Enterprise Voice and Online Services with Lync Server 2013

        Option 2:
        • MCSE: Communications
        • OR
        • MCSM (MCM): Lync

        One individual must pass one of the following Independent Software Vendor track options:

        Option 1:
        • Exam 70-336: Core Solutions of Microsoft Lync Server 2013
        • Exam 70-337: Enterprise Voice & Online Services with Microsoft Lync Server 2013

        Option 2:
        • MCSE: Communication

          OR
        • MCSM (MCM): Lync

      In addition to the above track options:
        • Your organization must have one application that has passed one of the following application tests:
        • Competency test for Lync Server 2013
        • Competency Test for Lync Online v.2

      One individual must pass one of the following Independent Hardware Vendor track options:

      Option 1:
      • Exam 70-336: Core Solutions of Lync Server 2013
      • Exam 70-337: Enterprise Voice & Online Services with Lync Server 2013

      Option 2:
      • MCSE: Communication

        OR
      • MCSM (MCM): Lync
      • AND, for both options: Your organization must have one qualified solution approved through the Unified Communications Open Interoperability Program for Lync Server (involving devices, video, networking infrastructure, load balancers, or communication services and infrastructure).
      • 2. Pass business assessments
        • One individual must pass the following:
          • Communications Sales assessment

          One individual must pass the following:
          • Communications Presales Technical assessment

          Use Microsoft partner learning paths to find details about related exams, assessments, and readiness.
      • 3. Complete your organization’s profile
        • Your Microsoft Partner Network account administrator must provide pertinent information about your organization.
      • 4. Provide customer evidence
        • For the Systems Integration track your organization must submit three customer references from within the previous 12 months featuring solutions based on Lync Server 2010, Lync Server 2013, or Lync Online. For the applications track, your organization must submit three customer references from within the previous 12 months related to your organization’s application based on Lync Server 2010, Lync Server 2013 or Lync Online. After a reference has been approved by your customer and by Microsoft, it can be used toward earning or renewing a competency for up to two years. Review a customer sample email that can be used for customer references for this competency. (Note: There is no customer evidence requirement for the IHV track).
      • 5. Pay the silver competency fee
        • To complete your enrollment in the competency, you must pay the silver competency fee. The fee is due one time per year—no matter how many competencies your organization earns. This fee will also be presented to you during the enrollment process. Your actual fee will be based on the physical location of your company.

          • Exam 74-338: Lync 2013 Depth Support Engineer

          • One of the four must pass the following exam:
          • Exam 74-335: Lync Network Readiness Assessment


          Two individuals each must pass one of the following Independent Software Vendors track exams:

          Option 1:
          • 70-336: Core Solutions of Microsoft Lync Server 2013
          • 70-337: Enterprise Voice & Online Services with Microsoft Lync Server 2013

          Option 2:
          • MCSE: Communication

            OR
          • MCSM (MCM): Lync

          In addition to the above track options:

        • Your organization must use the Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) Index survey to measure performance and help drive customer satisfaction. (Note: There is no customer feedback requirement for the IHV track).
      7. 6. Gold competency fee
        • To complete your enrollment in the competency, you must pay the gold competency fee. The fee is due one time per year—no matter how many competencies your company earns. According to the URL that you are currently visiting, your fee would be

        • Partners who attain a gold competency after they have already attained that silver competency, can upgrade that year to gold for no additional cost (unless a partner is within the last 90-day renewal period, in which case the full gold competency membership fee is due).
