    Requirements
    Silver Gold
    1. You can choose a competency track based on your organization’s business focus: Systems Integration, Application Developer, or Independent Hardware Vendor (IHV).

      Your organization can attain multiple competencies. If your employees or contractors pass the eligible competency exams for multiple silver competencies, you can count those exams toward attaining multiple silver competencies.
    2. Systems Integration track
      1. Pass a qualifying exam or certification
      • Two individuals each must pass the following:
        • 70-336: Core Solutions of Microsoft Lync Server 2013
        • 70-337: Enterprise Voice and Online Services with Lync Server 2013

        OR have one of the following certifications:
        • MCSE: Communications
        • MCSM: Communications
    3. 2. Business-focused assessment
      • One individual must pass the following:
        • Communications Sales assessment

        One individual must pass the following:
        • Communications Presales Technical assessment

    4. Application track
      1. Pass a qualifying exam or certification, and test your application
      • One individual must pass the following:
        • 70-336: Core Solutions of Lync Server 2013
        • 70-337: Enterprise Voice and Online Services with Lync Server 2013

        OR have one of the following certifications:
        • MCSE: Communication
        • MCSM: Communication

        Your organization must have one application that has passed one of the following application tests:
        • Competency Test for Lync Server 2013
        • Competency Test for Microsoft Lync Online v.2

        Qualifying gold application tests are also valid towards earning the Silver Application Development competency.
        Qualifying applications include developed and marketed, packaged software solutions based on Microsoft technologies. Custom-written applications not meant for resale do not qualify.

    6. Independent Hardware Vendor track
      1. Pass a qualifying exam or certification, and qualify your solution
      • One individual must pass the following:
        • Exam 70-336: Core Solutions of Lync Server 2013
        • Exam 70-337: Enterprise Voice and Online Services with Lync Server 2013

        OR have one of the following certifications:
        • MCSE: Communication
        • MCSM: Communication

        Your organization must have one qualified solution approved through the Unified Communications Open Interoperability Program for Lync Server (involving devices, video, networking infrastructure, load balancers, or communication services and infrastructure).

    8. 3. Complete your organization’s profile
      • Your Microsoft Partner Network account administrator must provide pertinent information about your organization.
    9. 4. Provide customer evidence
      • For the Systems Integration track your organization must submit three customer references from within the previous 12 months featuring solutions based on Lync Server 2010, Lync Server 2013, or Lync Online. For the applications track, your organization must submit three customer references from within the previous 12 months related to your organization’s application based on Lync Server 2010, Lync Server 2013 or Lync Online. After a reference has been approved by your customer and by Microsoft, it can be used toward earning or renewing a competency for up to two years. Review a customer sample email that can be used for customer references for this competency. (Note: There is no customer evidence requirement for the IHV track).
    10. 5. Pay the silver competency fee
      • To complete your enrollment in the competency, you must pay the silver competency fee. The fee is due one time per year—no matter how many competencies your organization earns. The fee varies by location. According to the URL that you are currently visiting, your fee would be [%silverprice%] [%currency%], not including applicable local taxes and fees. This fee will also be presented to you during the enrollment process. Your actual fee will be based on the physical location of your company.

    10. 5. Gather customer feedback
      • Your organization must use the Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) Index survey to measure performance and help drive customer satisfaction. (Note: There is no customer feedback requirement for the IHV track).
    11. 6. Meet a revenue goal
      • For the Systems Integration and Application tracks, you must meet a minimum revenue goal based on your organization’s location and the requirements for this competency. (Note: There is no revenue goal for the IHV track).
    12. 7. Pay the gold competency fee
      • To complete your enrollment in the competency, you must pay the gold competency fee. The fee is due one time per year—no matter how many competencies your company earns. According to the URL that you are currently visiting, your fee would be

Your actual fee will be based on the physical location of your company. If you attain a gold competency after first attaining a silver competency, then you pay only the difference between the two membership fees, unless you are within the 90-day renewal period, in which case the full gold competency membership fee is due.
