    1. 1. Pass the qualifying exams or certifications
      • Systems Builder track
        One individual must pass one of the following:
        • Exam 70-684: OEM Reseller
        • Exam 74-697: OEM Preinstallation

        Another individual must pass one of the following:
        • Exam 70-410: Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012
        • Exam 70-411: Administering Windows Server 2012
        • Exam 70-412: Configuring Advanced Windows Server 2012 Services
        • Exam 70-413: Designing and Implementing a Server Infrastructure
        • Exam 70-417: Upgrading Your Skills to MCSA Windows Server 2012
        • Exam 70-577: TS: Windows Embedded Standard 2009, Development
        • Exam 70-680: TS: Windows 7, Configuring
        • Exam 70-681: TS: Windows 7 and Office 2010, Deploying
        • Exam 70-682: Upgrading to Windows 7 MCITP Enterprise Desktop Support Technician
        • Exam 70-683: TS: Windows 7, Preinstalling for OEMs
        • Exam 70-687: Configuring Windows 8

        Your organization can attain multiple competencies. If your employees or contractors pass the eligible competency exams for multiple silver competencies, you can count those exams toward attaining multiple silver competencies.

        Device Manufacturer track
        Your organization must submit a device certified by the Windows Hardware Certification program (previously known as the Windows Logo program).
    2. 2. Pass the business-focused assessment
      • One individual must pass the following:
        • Sales Assessment for Device Sellers
    3. 3. Complete your organization’s profile
      • Your Microsoft Partner Network account administrator must provide pertinent information about your organization.
    4. 4. Provide customer evidence
      • Your organization must submit three unique customer references from within the previous 12 months that feature hardware solutions (PC or server) that:
        • 1. Were preinstalled with genuine software licenses for the Windows Server or Windows operating system
        • 2. Have passed the Windows Certification Program test or feature customer technical support services delivered by Microsoft Certified Professionals (MCPs) employed by your organization

        After a reference has been approved by your customer and by Microsoft, it can be used toward earning or renewing a competency for up to two years. Review a sample customer reference email that can be used for customer references for this competency.
    5. 5. Pay the silver competency fee
      • To complete your enrollment in the competency, you must pay the silver competency fee. The fee is due one time per year—no matter how many competencies your organization earns. The fee varies by location. According to the URL that you are currently visiting, your fee would be [%silverprice%] [%currency%], not including applicable local taxes and fees. This fee will also be presented to you during the enrollment process. Your actual fee will be based on the physical location of your company.

      • Option 1: Systems Builder track

        Two unique individuals each must pass one of the following exams
        • Exam 70-684: OEM Reseller
        • Exam 74-697: OEM Pre-Installation

        Another two unique individuals each must pass one of the following exams:
        • Exam 70-410: Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012
        • Exam 70-411: Administering Windows Server 2012
        • Exam 70-412: Configuring Advanced Windows Server 2012 Services
        • Exam 70-413: Designing and Implementing a Server Infrastructure
        • Exam 70-417: Upgrading Your Skills to MCSA Windows Server 2012
        • Exam 70-577: TS: Windows Embedded Standard 2009, Development
        • Exam 70-680: TS: Windows 7, Configuring
        • Exam 70-681: TS: Windows 7 and Office 2010, Deploying

        Option 2: Device Manufacturer track
        Your organization must submit two devices certified by the Windows Hardware Certification program (previously known as the Windows Logo program).

        Option 3: Agreement track (for partners with Microsoft agreements)
        Your organization must have one of the following current agreements:
        • Desktop Operating System (DTOS) Microsoft Agreement
        • OEM Master License Agreement (MLA)
        • Refurbishment License Agreement

      • Systems Builder track
        Two individuals must pass the following:
        • Sales Assessment for Device Sellers

        Device Manufacturer track
        One individual must pass the following:
        • Sales Assessment for Device Sellers

        Agreement track
        No assessment required
    3. 3. Complete your organization’s profile
      • Your Microsoft Partner Network account administrator must provide pertinent information about your organization.
    4. 4. Provide customer evidence
      • Your organization must submit five unique customer references from within the previous 12 months that feature hardware solutions (PC or server) that:

    6. 6. Meet a revenue goal
      • Microsoft Partner Network members with a gold competency must meet a minimum revenue goal based on your organization’s location and the requirements for this competency.
    7. 7. Pay the gold competency fee
      • To complete your enrollment in the competency, you must pay the gold competency fee. The fee is due one time per year—no matter how many competencies your company earns. According to the URL that you are currently visiting, your fee would be [%goldprice%] [%currency%], not including applicable local taxes and fees. This fee will also be presented to you during the enrollment process. Your actual fee will be based on the physical location of your company. If you attain a gold competency after first attaining a silver competency, then you pay only the difference between the two membership fees, unless you are within the 90-day renewal period, in which case the full gold competency membership fee is due.
